I'm off to the BarCamp I'm getting ready for BarCamp. Apparently this weekend is going to be a big hacker weekend. Not only is BarCamp taking place in New York and Milwaukee, Yahoo is also having a hacker camp. It's also Wired's Next Fest. I'm actually a little excited for Barcamp -- and a little amped after I read Wired's blog post. Large geek conventions can be kinda fun. I learned this after going to the American Association for Artificial Intelligence convention in Boston -- to celebrate the 50th anniversary of AI. You meet very interesting people at these places. Although to be honest I'd rather sleep in my own bed to report on the conventions, I guess the sleepover at Barcamp will have to be an exception. I'll have more on that later.

BarCamp Update David Cohn here, on the scene at BarCamp NYC. (I love using that old reporters talk) Right now I'm chilling at Microsoft's midtown office in New York, right next to Radio City Music hall. But I haven't been working ALL day. I got here around 11am and here I am around 10:30pm taking a break playing some Halo. Sure enough, a blogger caught me slacking off. Godforsaken bloggers! Red Bull sponsored this year's BarCamp and left an xBox gaming section. To prove it, I'll also include a picture of me working -- which the same blogger also caught me doing.
